About Cambridgeshire

The historic county of Cambridgeshire with its beautiful countryside and low-lying fenland can be found in Eastern England and of course is the home to the historic university city of Cambridge, one of the world's oldest seats of learning, with its colleges dating back to 1284. The city of Cambridge is a must when visiting the county, not only to witness the beautiful architecture of its many famous colleges, but the city holds many other delights such as 'punting' down the cam, and many other historical and traditional delights.

Just North-East of Cambridge is the beautiful cathedral city of Ely, a truly wonderful place dominated by its magnificent cathedral known as the "Ship of the Fens" which dates back to 1083 and before that was the site of monastery founded by St. Etheldreda in AD 673. (add/update description)
