Humber Bridge 4 Standing about 15 feet from the bottom of the tower looking upward, again with the lens set at 12mm showing the distortion that is so evident with very wide angle lenses. Colours are a pretty much as taken with just a bit of dodging and burning along with a slight curves adjustment for contrast. The Sigma 12-24 lens does not have a filter thread due to the quite pronounced dome to the front element. Sigma do make an filter adaptor of some sorts but only for use at the 24mm end, and that is no doubt far from cheap!! Humber Bridge 3 Still experimenting with the ultra wide 12mm setting on the Sigma 12-24. The bush in the foreground is about 5-6 feet from my feet and the base of the bridge probably less than 50 feet. The towers of the bridge appr 6 mtr square and rise 156 mtr into the air. The towers centers are 35mm wider at the top than the bottom due to the curvature of the earth This picture appears in the following picture tour: Camera Make: Canon Model: Canon EOS 5D Mark II |
Humber Bridge 2 The Humber Bridge opened in 1981 was the longest single span suspension bridge in the world for 16 years until surpassed in Japan. Total length 2220 mtr with a single span of 1410 mtr. Is now the 7th longest single span in the world I believe This picture appears in the following picture tour: Camera Make: Canon Model: Canon EOS 5D Mark II |
Humber Bridge 1 Had a half hour down at the Humber bridge today playing with the Sigma 12-24 lens. This one looking west up the River Humber. The shot does not show the extreme distortion which can be expected with the lens at 12mm!!
