I agree Kevin with your own comment, as I know this cottage very well. I took a picture of the cottage after it had a replaced new thatched roof last year. It is not that far away from my own abode. I did not know about the history bit! Thank you for your comments on my pictures.

4 stars
James Carter(24th March 2009)

This is one of the places I did not go Lara, when I visited Skye. The picture is unusual in the colours of the Sky. I quite like the effect. Did you use a blue graduate filter to get the intense blue sky effect? It seems to work quite well, different! Not sure about the foreground, as it looks like small pools of water, before a larger expanse of water, and then the mountains? Similiar to the Quarrang area. Thank you for your recent comments.

Wonderful shot Julian. You have captured great movement as the swan has a skidded landing on the ice. You should submit this shot in a competion. It's a winner!

I love this picture Sue, very much like the weather we have been having of late! Lovely clear blue sky, and the light makes the snow stand out. I can tell you love your photograpy. You live in a nice part of England, to get your subject matter.

Nice shot Jez. I only live a few miles from here, so will have to also take a shot some time. You picked the right time to get a great reflection.

You would have had a nice shot here, if you could have stood back further to get the steeple all in? Also good idea to switch your date mode off! Nice try, you will get that great shot with more practice.

Nice picture Ruth. Simple compositions make the best pictures. One can make the mistake of trying to get too much in a picture. Thank you for your comments.

Nice shot Richard. I would love to climb up Catbells and take a picture early morning. Compose the shot like yours looking towards Keswick across Derwent Water. Living in the East Midlands, The Lake District is not a place you can just nip in the car for the day! But you sure took a lot of photos while you were there.

I like what you captured in this barge festival. It looks like there was so much subject matter, you were spoilt for choice. I would have liked to have seen a couple of shots of perhaps showing parts of the barges and there bright colours.

Nice shot Ron, smashing colours. Just a tip Ron, flowers are best taken close-up out of sunlight! You will get a lot more detail in subdue light.

Nice shot Jason. I like the black/white conversion. It must have been either cold or windy, as most of the birds have tucked there heads under there wings.
