The river near Natland and Sedgewick, Cumbria

Within five minutes of my arrival at the river I had seen a kingfisher, four dippers, a great spotted woodpecker and three grey wagtails. There was a buzzard above being mobbed by a pair of carrion crows too.

Access to the river is found about halfway between Natland and the A591, Hawes Lane crosses the river and there are footpaths either side. I have never seen as much wild garlic as there is by the footpath on the west side of the lane.
