Surprise View at Hathersage Booths

The view northwest from Hathersage Booths is considered to be one of the best in the Peak District, with Hathersage itself nestling in the Derwent Valley in the middle distance and Mam Tor at Castleton can be seen on the horizon.

Owler Tor & the Longshaw Estate Beyond

Across the road from the Surprise View Car Park is a rock formation known as Owler Tor (on the left in this image) and beyond it on the right is the National Trust's Longshaw Estate.

Looking South from Surprise View Near Hathersage

The view to the south from Surprise View is not as spectacular as that in the opposite direction, but it is nonetheless a fine Peak District view.
