55019 Royal Highland Fusilier entered service with British Rail (BR) in December 1961 and was based at Haymarket depot in Edinburgh. It was the last Deltic to be named, the ceremony being held at Glasgow Central station in September 1965. It was renumbered from D9019 in November 1973 and was one of only five members of the class to undergo the extensive Heavy General Repairs (HGR) overhaul at Doncaster works.55019 worked its last train on 31st December 1981, hauling the Aberdeen-York service between Edinburgh and York. This was the final BR Deltic-hauled service train. The locomotive was withdrawn the same day due to it being surplus to requirements after over 20 years of active service.

47715 is a class 47 locomotive, built by Brush Electrical Machines At Loughbrough for British Rail in 1966. Originally numbered D1945 she was delivered to Toton, where she worked until 1973, when she was transferred to Bristol Bath Road. Renumbered to 47502 in 1974 she remained in the west country until 1984 when she was transferred to Edinburgh Haymarket and rebuilt for Push-Pull operation, gaining the new number 47715. IN 1990 the moved to Old Oak Common, London and was re-painted in to Network SouthEast livery. She was withdrawn in 2001 but bought by Fragonset and named Poseidon in 2003. After a spell working for Cotswold Rail, she was preserved at the Wensleydale Railway in 2008, where she has been ever since. A popular loco, she was recently re-painted into NSE and new ‘Haymarket’ nameplates applied.
