Anglesey Abbey

This is well worth a visit. I went on 25 June 2009. The gardens are stunning, there is a restuarant where we had a nice meal and delicious afternoon tea and scones, lovely.

Anglesey Abbey

Anglesey Abbey

Believed to have been built between 1100-1135 by a Community of Augustinian Canons. It was then known as Anglesea Priory. The Priory was obtained by Thomas Hobson around 1600 and was converted into a Country House and renamed Anglesey Abbey. It is now a National Trust Property and is known also for its beautiful gardens and water mill.
