This charming former woodman’s cottage, near The Ashdown Forest in Sussex, is over 200 years old. It is on the edge of the town of Crowborough and is an ideal base for exploring the forest and the High Weald area of outstanding natural beauty, which includes some of the most beautiful countryside in South-East England. Shrublands is just over an hour’s drive/train ride from London & about the same distance from well-known seaside resorts like Brighton and Eastbourne. The famous spa town of Tunbridge Wells is nearby. Crowborough was the home of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, creator of Sherlock Holmes and The Ashdown Forest provided the setting for A. A. Milne's ‘Winnie-The-Pooh’ stories.
