Goldsborough, North Yorkshire

Goldsborough Hall was once the home of Princess Mary and her husband, Henry Lascelles (the 6th Earl of Harewood). In the grounds is this copse of Japanese cherry trees which was a present from the Emperor of Japan to Princess Mary. The trees are Prunus 'Shirotae' Mount Fuji, a flat, wide-spreading low tree with pure white flowers.
