The back of the Old Hall

The stark grandeur of Hardwick Old Hall is still visible, although most parts of the building are ruined. Both Halls and a part of the garden walk are supposed to be haunted. It is said that the ghost of Thomas Hobbes who died December 1679 walks between the Old and New Halls at dusk.

Plaster Relief

Mr Digby's Chamber, one of Bess's man servants. The plaster is protected from the elements by a special resin that can be re-applied without affecting the plaster

Room with a View
