This sculpture of a Red Squirrel is new since last year. I have yet to see an actual Red Squirrel over there on the Island at all !

Shanklin Chine Visitor Centre.

This is the cafe, gift shop and visitor centre at the bottom of the chine. For those who have the energy you can start your visit to the chine from this end and walk uphill !

The Bridge

This bridge has a seat next to it and has a large fuchsia and a rhododendron growing together by it which gives it a slight oriental feel.

A Quiet Seat

This seat is about halfway down the chine at the end of the big stone bridge, very pleasant to sit down when it is quiet for a few minutes and listen to the birds.

The waterfall.

Taken about halfway down the waterfall looking up towards the entrance booth. After heavy rainfall the waterfall is truly impressive, but as a result of a very dry spring the volume of water isn't there.

Taken from just inside the top entrance looking down as the path meanders its way towards the bottom of the chine at the beach. If you time your visit just right you can have the whole chine near enough to yourself.
