Bristol Cathedral, West Front

Bristol Cathedral was originally the Abbey of St. Augustine, but became a Church of England Cathedral in 1542 following shortly after the Dissolution of the Monasteries (1536 - 1541).

The Cabot Tower on Brandon Hill, Bristol

The tower was built to commemorate the voyages of John Cabot, who set sail from Bristol in 1497 arriving in Newfoundland with the intention of opening trade routes between North America and Bristol.
