I am from, and live in, USA in the state of Ohio, about 12 miles from the state capital and 14th largest city in the country. It is nice to be so close to the city and all it offers, yet live in a smaller city. My city was a little village of approximately 3000 when my spouse, son and self moved here in 1984. By 89 we topped 5000 and became a city. Now we are approximately 17,000 and have a lot to offer in the way of shopping, entertainment and restaurants.
I have worked for my city since 1986, for 9 years as a police, fire, ems and 9-1-1 dispatcher, then I transferred to City Hall as I grew weary of working all different shifts. At city hall I worked days, with weekends and holidays off, same as my family,
After 30 years of marriage my X decided he no longer wanted to be married and left. And so, we divorced. not my choice, however life throws us curves. Life is what we choose to make of it, I could be miserable, lonely and bitter, instead I choose to find the positives and enjoy life as best I can.
My hobbies are reading, gardening, photography, genealogy, planning trips and traveling. my greatest joy comes from spending time with my son, and with my sibs and their families. Then of course there is the traveling. first went to England, France, Scotland and Germany in 2000, my family of 3, and one of my sisters and her family of 4. We did all the planning ourselves, decided on flights, trains, tube passes etc that we wanted, then went to a travel agent so they could order it all for us. Our plans all worked out , we had such a great time and were bitten by the foreign travel bug.
I will retire in about 4 years. I would like to get a part time job with an airlines, if they are still offering the benefit of cheap flights to their employees.
