St James' built in the 12th century. Parts of the Nave are still original but the church has been restored in several stages, with a major, but sympathetic, restoration during the Victorian era.

Farm track running beneath a bridge, at Ludgershall, on the de-commissioned Andover to Swindon railway. Line now finishes at the former army vehicle depot in Ludgershall (Andover - Ludgershall now operated by the military)

The tower of St James' collapsed in around 1662, was rebuilt in 1675 and the top stage of the tower was rebuilt again in 1870.
