Hi Vince, that Canon sounds very tempting.  If I hadn't been so impatient I would probably have gone for that.  Never mind, I am sure this one will start me off nicely.

We are going up to Hunstanton Fri night - Saturday. We have family up there so like to visit from time to time.

Thank you Vince.  We've never been to Castle Rising Castle, although we pass it often.  I will give it a wave for you. I take it you have been often?

Hi Debbie, the answer is no, we have only been to Castle Rising Castle just the once. The important thing about it is that is was built by a William d'Albini who married Adeliza de Louvain ( Henry !st's second wife) and my wife and daughter are direct descendants of them.  He was the one who also built the first stone keep at Arundel Castle. Me? I know my place.

Ooh that's really exciting Vince. To trace your ancestors back to royalty...even if by marriage. Wink You know your place?  It's never too late for an uprising,  you know.

I traced my family back to Somerset but that's as exciting as it got. Laughing
