Hi Ron, 

I can't believe you mentioned Studley Priory Hotel.  I've spent many a wonderful break there while touring area sites and exploring antique stores.  My ex and I always rented a Morgan for our travels in England to help us get in the spirit of things.   

The hotel at that time was owned and run by a retired colonel and his family.  It is, as you well know, a wonderful building in a beautiful park.  I remember the bartender-cum-desk clerk was a retired sargent major from the colonel's regiment.  He taught us the regimental version of the gin tonic and I still make it today.

I would love to take your C. S. Lewis tour on my next visit, although I understand the priory is now a private house so I'll have to find another hidden treasure of a hotel.

Jac, thanks for your support re C. S. Lewis in purchasing my book and what I am trying to achieve here in Oxford, it is very much appreciated and I will gladly sign it for you when you come over next time. S. Lewis, Anthony Hopkins, Colin Dexter...It was also the Randolph where Joy walked in asking anybody here by the name of Lewis? Yes, some of Shadowlands was filmed there!

I will come to your home page C.S. Lewis (I like stories like Narnia, when I have time drawing fantasy illustrations in the wacom, and almost half of my library books are legends, filled with elves and strange beings you transported incredible worlds. That it means that I have not yet grown?? Lol), and I hope to hear something!!
