Hi all,

I'm an unabashed Anglophile.  My first English book was Beatrix Potter and I've been reading English literature ever since.  I found this site while searching for maps of the English counties so I could better situate the characters in my favorite books.

I first visited England in 1974 and have returned many times.  I've driven along the motorways and country roads of most of the counties and had the pleasure of staying in many B&Bs, small & large hotels and flats in villages and cities throughout England.

Every time I try to name a favorite place I'm stymied by the wealth of choices.  I few places I love are: Yorkshire, the Lake District, Cornwall, the Dover coast, the Cotswolds, London, Oxford, Horton-cum-Studley, Bedfordshire, Lincoln, Warwick Castle, and a thousand more.

I'm really looking forward to exploring this great site.

Hello to everyone.  You don't sound too mad...at least not compared with me.

Thanks for the welcome messages.  I knew if I listed a few favorite spots I'd omit so many, many more.

Meg, unfortunately, most of my pictures were "lost" in a divorce settlement...lol...which is unfortunate as my ex and I owned an antique store and enjoyed long trips to England 4 times/year to see the site and buy furniture and decorative items.

Lyn,  most people shorten my name even further to Jac.  I got to know Bedforshire when I was seeing a fellow who lived there.

Sue, I currently live in Atlanta in the southeastern USA but I've lived in many countries from early childhood including Guam, Philipines, Japan and France as well as many areas of the USA.  I developed a love of travel very early.
