I am now 66yrs old but feel like 40!!. I live in the North East of England.  The Angle of the North is just 10 minutes walk away to the north of my home.  I retired early some 10years ago and spend a great deal of my time in my garden.  To relax my wife and I often drive over to the Lake District where we have stayed many times for our holidays.  We are really in love with that area. I think that our photographs will prove that. I think that my favourate area is that surrounding Ullswater, but Grasmere and Derentwater come very close.  I like Windermere but it is very crowded and commercial now.

Your pictures are lovely, I especially like this one, so crisp and clear.

Hi Roy

I did the lakes as a 10 year old lad with my parents, the memories are still with me, but thanks for this beautiful shot. What other land on this earth can you name with such beautiful countryside? There is nothing that can better good old England, is there?

I am really pleased that you like my photos, mind you when you have been taking pictures for as long as i have you are bound to fet one of two decent ones.  I tend to take numerous pictures in the same area, hoping that at least a few are ok.  That is the beauty of digital pictures.  My wife Lilian who has also submitted pictures to the site, is far more careful.  She take a lot of time before she takes a picture, that way she fewer pictures but gets beter results.  I have a many pictures on film that i am starting to scanvinto the computer. Its a long winded job mind.
