Penrith is on the top side of Cumbria, I'm down on the bottom end of Cumbria.  I'm about an half hour from Coniston.

I don't really go to the lakes that much, too many people in summer.  I tend to go up there at the back end of the year. A nicer time to go.

I lived by the sea for 38 years (Portsmouth) and I've got to say I loved it. Now I live by the Humber estuary so I have kept my marine connections.....the salt air is great but the Shy torques are not so good, the messy devils. Anyway, have fun, I know you will!
