That's the power of POE! Thanks Chris and Sarah. I agree with your comments, thoughts and suggestions for the future of the website and enjoyment for the membership. I wish I could donate a greater sum to the website than at present, but who knows what the future may bring. Hang on in there kiddo's!

This is a difficult one - I can see that the privacy would be good in alot of ways but I can also see Sue's point that none of us would probably have joined the forums if we hadn't seen what it was all about. Mmmm.... maybe a members only bit for more sensitive conversations. Probably would be too much to put into practice.

I have to agree with the privacy issue.  When I google my name it connects me to this website and I really dont want to be googled and found by a certain person.  I am now wishing I had not mentioned my last name and changed it in my settings but didnt get rid of it on a google search. I doubt if I asked to be deleted as a member it would be deleted on a search either.  Does anyone know how to get rid of it?  I suppose its on other search engines too.

Well if it any consolation coppercat I can't work out who you are at the moment - I am sorry that the certain person is causing you such worries. Maybe Chris & Sarah the owners will be able to solve your problem.

It is a difficult one - as a keen photographer I actually want people to know that they are my photos which is why I have used my name. In the forum of course we talk about all sorts of things so I suppose people can know all sorts of things about me but I am lucky enough really not to have anyone who would want to know - well I don't think so anyway! People tend to know everything about me anyway because I talk too much!

I was listening to somebody from Google on BBC radio just yesterday, the CEO I think, or of similar standing and he basically suggested that snippets of information could be there for a lifetime and beyond. Not sure that those words were used exactly but amounts to the same thing.

Chris and Sarah can only delete what you the members submit, but that doesn't mean it's deleted from the search engines. I got the impression that Google would take down what was requested, certainly in the case of street views, but not sure they would entertain 'personal' information, I think they would be inundated with requests.
