Highwayman Dick Turpin also liked York, though he wasn't particularly nice, after lightening the purses of tourists passing by Heathrow airport, on their way to visit villages to the west of London. Seems his enjoyment of York was curtailled somewhat at York Racecourse.

Lol@paul.

There is a new highwayman at Heathrow airport, also lightening the purses of tourists. He is called 'Heathrow airport!'

Ray---I'm sure that's why many people come here to experience some of our older traditions, right from the moment they touch down. If Mr. Turpin were alive today, I expect he'd be operating a chain of motorway service areas, now in cahoots with the government, collecting various duties and taxes for them, too. Clearly, his former adversaries finally twigged how Mr T. was really onto a winner .

Yes, no doubt about that Paul. Mr T was years ahead of his time. He would not be a reviled highwayman today, but a 'respected' government minister.
