Folks, I have just seen on the local BBC local radio news that the National Trust property " Clandon Park House " has been ravaged by fire this afternoon. The pics on the web page for BBC Radio Surrey show a very severe fire which apparently started in the basement area and soon took hold with the roof well alight very quickly. I believe that no one was injured thank goodness but there must be a major loss of the contents of the building .

I've just looked at the pictures Vince, it looks dreadful, as you say thankfully no one appears to have been hurt. It looks like the roof has collapsed now too.

I saw an aerial shot of the building and it has been gutted completely.
It's going to take a few bob to sort that out, if indeed it can be saved.

Oh, I remeber that fire. I don't know how nobody was hurt here. It is a miracle!
