Also situated in the Vale of Aylesbury is the historic market town of WINSLOW which has a Norman church dated mainly from the 12th Century.  Nearby attractions include Stowe Gardens, Claydon House built in the mid 18th Century and owned by the National Trust and Winslow Hall designed by Sir Christopher Wren (but no pics, sorry)

The ancient, historical market town of BUCKINGHAM with The Old Gaol Museum, Buckingham Chantry House (no pics) is the next stop.  Anyone know why this isn't the county town of Buckinghamshire?

A visit to the historic market town of OLNEY is next, lying alongside the River Ouse.  Since 1445 Pancake races have been held in Olney and the hymn Amazing Grace (amongst others) was written here.  There is a Museum to William Cowper and nearby is the Harrold-Odell Country Park.
