And while we go to cross the bridge to see Eton, Midsomer Murders fans might recognise this building appearing as Midsomer Magistrates Court in The Magician's Nephew.

Eton is most famously known for Eton College and the many notable people that have been educated there, such as Princes Harry and William.

As we head north, we come to Slough which was moved from Buckinghamshire to Berkshire and noted for the Slough Trading Estate which started life in WW1 as a military depot and what is now the Mars chocolate factory, used to be where military trucks were re-built; up to the early 1970's, you could still see their steam engines on the Estate, as it branched off the GWR line out of Paddington.

As we circle around Berkshire, we come to Woodley where RAF Squadron Leader Sir Douglas Bader crashed and had his legs amputated at the Royal Berkshire hospital in Reading. The Miles Aircraft factory used to be here and in the 1930s, had built the Miles Mohawk plane for Charles Lindbergh and his wife Anne, to fly --mostly--around Europe in.

Near Windsor, we can visit Lego Land and all to see there. The site was originally Windsor Safari Park which we can at least still enjoy seeing too in one of the On The Buses films where the Town and District bus company went to do tours of it with rather disastrous results !

The River Thames divides Berkshire and Oxfordshire at Streatley with Goring on the Oxon side.

And at the day's end, we can stop off in West Berkshire and look towards Wiltshire as the sun goes down.

Paul, that was amazing.  Thank you!  I think all the POE people who live in England should give us a tour of their counties.  Or, is they prefer to give a tour of another county apart from the one they live in, that would be OK too.  It's nice to see these tours thru the eyes of those who live there.
