Don't forget you can get lots of information at http://www.picturesofengland.com/England/Kent This will be another two day tour of Kent starting tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday, so I'll pick out the highlights from the information on POE and perhaps everyone will fill in any gaps with information, suggestions, recommendations, pictures on Saturday. I love to see your contributions and it all adds to the pool of information for those deciding what they should see in each County and to plan their routes. We spent the night in Rye, East Sussex, now we will cross the Romney Marsh to Hythe. Romney Marsh has a Visitor's Centre, guided tours, cycle rides and countryside events, so there is lots going on here. Places to see in Folkestone include The Harbour, The Lees Gardens where on a clear day you are supposed to be able to see France, The 13th Century Church of St Mary & St Eanswythe, the Battle of Britain Museum and a Butterfly Centre. Dover has a Castle with the church of St Mary in Castro being inside the Castle grounds. Around Dover are various attractions and these include Russell Gardens, Kearsney Abbey, Crabble Corn Mill, Dover Transport Museum, Western Heights Defence, Dover Museum, Dover Bronze Age Boat, Lighthouse, Oriental Gardens and of course the famous White Cliffs.
