We are now nearing the end of our first day in SUSSEX at SHOREHAM-BY-SEA. You can visit Marlipins Museum which is housed in a 12th Century building, St Mary de Havre chuch built in 1103, and nearby there is the Devil's Dyke on the South Downs Way and Woods Mill Nature Reserve and Henfield.

We will stay for the night in SHOREHAM-BY-SEA before proceeding on to EAST SUSSEX.

You have all day tomorrow (Tuesday) to add anything of interest in WEST SUSSEX to this thread.  The more information the better.  Thanks for taking this trip with us today.

Enjoy your evening and I will see you tomorrow night with the plans for Wednesday.  Sleep wellSmile

Gatwick airport

Of course one way in or out of Sussex is Gatwick Airport with it's air , road and rail connections. Gatwick Airport has momories for me as my claim to fame has to be the only person to lay down in the middle of the runway and read the "Amateur Photographer" magazine.

Thanks so much for adding pics and information Vince.  I suppose I should have visited Crawley as I have family there, but I couldn't fit it into the route. I have flown into Gatwick Airport and also taken the coach from Heathrow to Gatwick.  Great service that and the coach travels through a surprising amount of scenic countryside even though it's motorway.

Well, I can't put a picture of Crawley because there aren't any!!!! Can anyone fill the gap??  So I will add a picture of Faygate which is close to Crawley.  This is Faygate Place once the home of Lord & Lady Hawke where my mother was housekeeper/companion for over 20 years
