I have overlooked Basingstoke, an attraction not to be missed there is on the outskirts. Built and run by Hampshire Council it is a place of "living history" a full size victorian town with so much to see and then pasing under a bridge you emerge into a another era this time a mix of 30s& 40s with a hidden corner full of domestic items and exclamations of "I had one of those" or" I remember them"  Do get to Milestones you will not be disappointed.

OK, I'd better reveal the real reason we are at Southsea - it is because we are going to  catch the Hovercraft to Ryde in the Isle of Wight because they are having the Ryde Carnival today (Saturday 21 & Sunday 22 August) and it's time to have some fun, let down our hair and partyLaughing  The Hovercraft takes only 10 minutes from Southsea to Ryde and runs 7 days a week.

Thanks for popping in and mentioning MILESTONES in BASINGSTOKE, some pics would be great, it sounds like a fascinating place to visit.  Perhaps we need to get it added to the Attractions!

Milestone's is already there Cathy; perhaps I should add some photos of it?  And as we're going on a whistle stop tour, how about the Mid Hants Railway/Watercress Line, or see the birds at the Hawk Conservancy near Andover   Smile

If you have photos you could add to the tour Paul that would be wonderful.  Can you add information about it here plus the others you mention and any photos.  The more places of interest and things to do added here, the easier it will be for people making plans to visit Hampshire.  There are so many places in Hampshire that have the "awaiting pictures" box and/or no descriptions it would be great if we can fill the gaps and add photos or words.

Last full day in Hampshire everyone, so please let us know what we have missed and tell us about it.

I will see you all on the Hovercraft to the Isle of Wight and the Ryde Carnival tonight.

Have a fantastic daySmile
