I took this picture from a Powerpoint about the southeast of England. The whole presentation consists of pictures of different places with music in the background but no explanation of the cities and villages shown.

Any idea of where this lovely street is located?

In order to include it in this post, I inserted the picture in my profile and  it was approved as being of the Rye, Sussex. Is that correct?

Thank you

Ricardo

Indeed, with the building on the right the Mermaid Inn which has quite a history.  The flat part you're thinking of Pete used to be the bottom of the sea surrounding Rye when it was a Cinque Port and the sea came up to the hill it's built upon.

Thanks everybody,

I think this street, together with Golden Hill in Shaftesbury, must be the most beautiful village streets in Ëngland.

Apart from Mermaid Inn, I wonder what the other houses are. Private homes? Shops? Do people ACTUALLY live there? My God, I really ENNNNVY them! If I go there some day I think I could not resist to choose any of those houses, suddenly open the front door and step inside without permission to watch the interiors... and then run away. Is that a felony?

How about living in Clovelly. Type it in the search box (or click on my picture and follow the tour). This is just a taste

I used to live near Clovelly. It is a privately owned village, owned by the Rouse family, and I think you can only rent property there. It looks lovely, but living there has its problems: provisions etc. have to be brought down on sledges that glide over the cobbles.
