Welcome from me too, Mick. From your photos, you nearly took one of my Mum's house in your photo of Cobbled Roads ( Conduit Hill ) Rye. We lived in Playden for many years. Famous people? From your region, at Broad Oak, a friend living there taught the Queen how to drive and her husband produced the first TV commercial in England for Gibbs toothpaste, about 1956.  Also near Rye, the artist [Arthur] Spencer Roberts we have a painting from, of African wild life.  People bumped into---HRH Princess Anne; Kirk Douglas; Milburn Stone ( Doc in Gunsmoke). drinks with Matt Munroe and Errol Brown ( of Hot Chocolate). Jenny Pitman, John Francombe, Joe Mercer in the West Berks region. Keith Chegwin and Angela Rippon in Newbury. Max Clifford at Thame. That'll do I think.

There was another---Syd James of Carry On films fame. He lived around the corner from my wife on Gunnesbury Ave. , Ealing Common. My Step Dad might have been famous for making England's first telephone answering machine in 1956 ( for his own companies' use) , but the Shell Book of Firsts incorrectly attributes it to a commercial firm in London in 1959.

Nice one Paul, I also met Syd James, He was in a pub near Tun:Wells sipping a Brewmaster. I had the pleasure once of meeting the Crickets and Buddy Hollies wife who's name escapes me, Bob Montgomery (a cricket) wrote a lot of hits that I liked and it was a joy bying him a drink after a show in London.

Welcome Mick! This is very interesting. From skies to celebrities in one foul swoop. I once sat next to Patrick Moore on the Portsmouth to Selsey train. That man can talk!!!!!

Yes, he is a very clever man, and largely self-taught.
