You're in the right area with Turton John, you're not looking at the tower but something else. I did find out this info whilst in the tower though 

Remember it's flat too 

Football club ground at Chapeltown, Turton. I started looking at football and cricket grounds as soon as you mentioned it was something flat a few days ago.
