Not a good week for broadcasters.

Yeah, another icon of the broadcasting world Sue. Another who 'entertained' as did Sir David Frost.

They really will be missed.

Sorry to hear about David Jacobs -he has been ill for a while he was still broadcasting a few weeks ago-now there was a man who knew his music there is only Desmond Carrington left now of the old timers.

James Bond stunt pilot, Ken Wallis has passed away aged 97.

I remember seeing a documentary about him, and just fell in love with how passionate he was about flight.

97. What a good age.

Mercury 7 astronaut Scott Carpenter in Denver after complications from a recent stroke. One of the original Mercury project astronauts, he was the 4th American in space and 2nd to orbit the earth in Aurora 7.

The sole remaining astronaut of the Mercury 7 group is now John Glenn, 92, who was the first to orbit earth in his capsule Friendship 7 before Carpenter's flight.

Thanks to Glenn, the first camera in space wasn't some Nikon or Hasselblad, but a Minolta Hi-Matic compact he smuggled aboard to get some photos of his 3 orbits.
