Larry Ramos aged 72; guitarist and vocalist with The Association. After being with the Christy Minstrels, he had been invited to join The Association in the latter '60s when he was on their chart hits, Windy, Never My Love, and Cherish. He last performed with them in Feb this year. The Association had opened the Montery Pop Festival in 1967 and were best known for their folk-rock with multiple harmonies.

Patsy Byrne has passed away aged 80.  She was an accomplished actress as well as a comedian. I remember her as Nursie in Blackadder (along with Rik Mayall).

Veteran actor, Eli Wallach aged 98. Probably best known for playing roles as the bad guy, and having learnt to ride horses in Texas while at university in Austin, he found his way into notable films such as The Magnificent Seven as leader of the Mexican bandits, and as an adversary to Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef in The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, amongst many other film, TV, and stage roles.

Bobby Womack, Soul Singer, died today aged 70. It didn't seem very long ago I saw him on one of Jools Holland's TV shows.

He was probably not so well known in recent years, but he was of the generation of great artists such as Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin and many others who defined soul music.
