Planetary Scientist Professor Colin Pillinger aged 70 died at his home in Cambridge after apparently suffering a brain haemorrhage. A clever guy for sure who will be sadly missed.

Stephen Sutton

This young man may not have been 'famous' but he certainly deserves to be remembered.

What a legacy to leave. How many lives will benifit because of him?

Today he walks with God.

So young as well Sue, 19 years old and cheerful to the end, what a wonderful young man.

Derek Knee aged 91.

Mr. Knee was the translator for Field Marshal Montgomery when the German's surrendered May 1945.

A really good obituary here at The Telegraph. Definitely worth a read.

Maya Angelou has passed away.

What a beautiful, inspirational woman.

She will indeed rest in peace with the Lord that she worshipped.

Rik Mayall, who I remember best for his character Alan B'Stard MP, presented an entertaining parody of Parliamentary life. In recent years, it seems, the real life MPs have lived up to and exceeded the limits of the comic persona.

Sad to see him die so young, but at least he was spared the indignity of old age.

Alan B'Stard, MP
