I have read this thread with love and admiration for both Sue and Karen and for all the POE members who really do care about each other.

I am convinced that knowing people are thinking of you and praying for you all around the world DOES make a difference!  You can be sure I will continue to think and pray for you both from way down here daily!

Prayers go up and Blessings come down!

I have one more colonoscopy scheduled for this week, and then I have to get a PET scan as markers in my blood are rising, and thats not a good sign.

Once the PET scan is done, and if nothing more is found in the colon, then I should be starting Chemo next week.

Finally some good news.

The CT & PET scan show no evidence of cancer.

The colonoscopy showed the beginnings of polyps, but not cancerous yet.

Yay! Happy dance.

Of course this doesn't mean there is no cancer, my CEA says different, but it means its not big enough to show up and small enough that chemo should take care of it

My port was accessed for the first time today to retrieve blood. Definitely not as bad as I had been imagining.

The PET scan was interesting. It took well over an hour, trying to stay completely still while they thread you through the machine.  Nothing to be done when my body suddenly decided that it needed to go to the loo. It was very much 'lay back and think of England'.

Chemo starts next Wednesday, 16th. The treatments will be every two weeks. I get about two and a half hours of infusion in the chemo room at the Oncologist clinic in Reno and then I will be hooked up to a pump which comes home with me, infusing meds over a 46 hour period.  I can get disconnected in my home town saving me a trip to Reno.

All In all this is good news indeed.

Thank you again for all your thoughts, prayers, good vibes and love.

Great news Sue so fingers crossed mate!

Take care, love as always from Anna and Ron. Hoping Karen is able to report a similar amount of progress soon.
