Heres my answer to get the economy moving AND save tax payers millions!!
SCRAP ALL BENEFITS (Here me out please! ) yes, scrap ALL state benefits including State Pensions, Child allowance, sick pay etc. These benifits are complicated and cost billions to administrate.
Before you think I'm a 'right-wing nutter', please let me explain!
Set a minimum wage at say £6.00 per hour .
Pay EVERYONE on the Electorial Role (working or not and earning under £30,000 ? per annum), the eqivilant to 30 hours min wage ie
30x£6.00 per week (x4 = £720.00 per month)
THIS would cost the tax-payer much less than the present annual combined welfare bill and Administration costs.
Those who you dont or cant work you will have enough to live on without any other state benefits or company 'sick-pay' schemes.
If you are a low-paid, part-time or casual worker the extra £720 per month (double if you are a couple) on top of your wage will leave you enough to pay your way and money to spend (or save) on extras.
The savings from reduced admin costs, the spending power in our pockets would allow more start-up businesses without the employer needing to pay high wages sick/maternity pay, he/she cant afford.
Growth will take off and inflation will fall.
The High street will boom again.
The crime rate and justice costs will fall .
HAs any Party got the guts to try this???
So simple to admin. using info from those registered to vote AND living in this country lists, already compiled. perhaps a short trail 'pilot' scheme in , say the north east/west, would test the theory?
