No joke; this was the headline of a small article in today's paper.

Apparently, the Mayor of a remote Australian town has come under fire for inviting ugly women to move there - saying the shortage of females means they have a chance of finding love at last.  According to the article, the ratio of five men to every woman in Mount Isa, Queensland, meant that "beauty disadvantaged" women would be welcome.

Aside from the obvious insult to both men and women, I think this is hilarious! Laughing Well, unless I get a personal invitation in the mail...then it wouldn't be so funny. LOL!

Define ugly.

Most normal people know that ugly comes from within, just as beauty does.

Agreed Sue!  But that's just my point.  What is ugly to one person is not to another.  Case in point: When I was in my early 20s I was asked to model for a hair salon that was hosting a convention in the hotel I worked in at the time.  I agreed and when I went in to get my make-up and hair done I met the photographer who was without a doubt the most unattractive person I had ever seen; to the point that people would turn to take a look at him as he passed by.  Any way, he came over and introduced himself to me and within 5 minutes I no longer cared what he looked like, he absolutely captivated me with his easy, confident manner. He was charming, witty and down right sexy!

But you could still do with a nose job, Andy. I mean look at the length of it.

Embarassed I'm not going to ask!

I wonder if people who think they are ugly will move there Diana? There was a programme on in this country taking women who wanted a husband to Australia to meet some men in the outback somewhere. I don't know what it was called as I didn't watch it - I just saw the ads for it. I wonder if it was the same place!
