I'd love to hear about the birds you've seen today (everyday), as I miss being able to go out and watch the English birds.

This thread isn't just for the avid bird watcher, but the regular garden bird watcher too.

Today I am going to a friends new house, sat right above the river, they have just purchased Swarovski 15 x 56 binoculars mounted on a tripod and have them focused on the river. Should be good.

I have seen a couple of sparrows and a couple of starling, or they may have been thrushes. No good at bird identification.

No time like the present, Peter.

A starling is black with dots and a Thrush is light brown with dots. Consider this your first lesson in bird watching  .

Had a couple of magpies in the garden and the usual fat pigeons pinching the bird food off the bird table. My bird table's got a thatched roof and  its funny to watch them try and get under it lol

The pair of bluetits that are nesting in the nestbox at the bottom of the garden. One cockerel (black, seems to like my garden), the usual woodpigeons, collared doves, jackdaws, blackbirds (nesting), songthrushes (nesting), dunnock (nesting), robins (nesting), starlings, house sparrows (one white), great tit, goldfinch (only one today, usually a pair), siskin (regular visitor), coal tit (front garden on feeder) sparrowhawk (sometimes sits in tree at bottom of garden...has her eye on the bluetits) and finally my little wren in the honeysuckle bush. Species that have been in front and back garden lately:- pheasant, mallard (from village pond), fieldfare, mistle thrush, greenfinch, long tailed tit, green woodpecker, treecreeper, chaffinch, rook, feral pigeon, redwing.

Way to go Andy, now that is what I call a bird report.

As for you Ron, I should have guessed you'd come up with something like that.
