I can see both of your points. Personally , I don't mind photo editing if that can help to convey the author's  idea to the viewer (I wouldn't have accepted anything like this up to some time ago, but I love it now lol) .  I'd only like to see more detailed captions in terms of methods and tools used, and not in terms of camera brands and exposure times only.

Diana,  those in my area are definitely city squirrels and I have to conclude that, unlike pigeons, perhaps they need much more than a handful of nuts to trust us lol

Maria, thought I would bring this thread up to date and lower the tone somewhat because that's what I am about isn't it? My tool (s) are old and sometimes don't work, rusty that is! Detailed captions, well it is funny sometimes but I don't normally offer trade names, and exposure? Well I expose professionally when I can, thats not to say to everybody just those who know me in the camera club! As for the pigeons, well I think squirrels have the edge, they know quality nuts when they see them, but do they trust me? I think not!! Thinks.....now wait for the complaints, the flak, but hey I can take it!

I wasn't referring to any picture in particular, Ron. I've developed a certain interest in photography only recently and I've gone over so many websites over these weeks and looked at so many photos that I just sometimes wished I could read more about how they've been taken or edited (techniques, pieces of software etc...) and that's for exclusively learning purpose.

I just point my camera at whatever and take a photo, If it comes out ok then thats alright, if not then I just delete it lol It's just luck sometimes, being in the right place at the right time.

First - My apologies for not keeping up with the thread. I've just been very busy, and now we're about to leave on vacation (make that holiday! :-) for about 10 days, so I'll be absent again...! Unfortunately we're not going to England, but rather to one of my other favorite places, southwest Texas.... where the altitude is high (sorta!) and the humidity is low (definitely! :-)

As to providing notes detailing what is done to an image, that's a very good idea. Trouble is, I rarely (never!) take notes, so I can VERY rarely even remember what I did! Laughing

Which reminds me Diana, that 'phallic opsis' thing that you sent Anna last year is still our favourite present. Anna cleans it, talks to it, loves it!! You are wonderful, we haven't had so much fun for ages!
