I think the nicest aerial images of London are shown on the BBC's The Apprentice TV show.  The highest I've ever taken it from was in 1973 from the top of The Monument ( to the Great Fire of London) as here, looking east and the third image of the Daily Mail series is looking across the Thames back to this side. Looks very different today than it did in 1973.

Thanks for taking a look and your comment too Peggy. The days when I used to wander around London taking photos then, getting back home, process the Ektachrome slides or additionally print my black and white photos, some of which were used by regional London newspapers. My only regret not taking loads more I easily could have done. 

So many today would have historical importance but back then, you don't realise it while snapping away at every day things and locations.
