It's a Cuckoo, Jen. A parasitic bird who is a harbinger of spring. It has a lovely evocative call, cuckoo, cuckoo, I can't wait to hear one next week.

We've been hearing them every day for a good week or two here on Old road Sue (and seen a few fly over), so when you pop round for a cuppa and a chat whilst you're over, maybe we can all rejoice in the sound of the cuckoo together!

Please put 'tour of the POE HQ' down on your travel itinerary, cause we'd love to meet you whilst you're over! Smile

Thank you POE. It would be a pleasure to meet with you both, and it would be a ple...a...a.....hon..... well, it would be nice to meet Ron too, I'm sure  .

I will call Ron when I find out what I'm doing, but it looks like it will be toward the end of my trip when I head out Wheatley way which will be so different as I have always had a house to go to, but now I am beholden to my many (note I said many, Ron) friends and cousins and it will break my heart not to walk 'up the road and down the lane' as soon as I get over there, which is what I most look forward to.

Oh well, times and things change, and I'll change with them.

I'll be sure to report if Ron looks like his avatar when I get to meet him. I may even take a few pictures to share. I'll post it under Wildlife  .

Very good my friends, don't we all just love a little dig at that Ron!!

It's at times like this that you need to ask yourself why does he pick on me?

Answer: It's simple, I bide my time reading, watching, waiting to pounce, waiting for anything to counter the constant harassment that I have to endure. In fact I might even refer to the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 (c40) to see if I can make a nice little earner for myself. Thinks....yipppeee more money, more whiskey!!
