I think another series of Foyle's War has recently been commisioned.

Other programmes I think worth watching are---The Sweeney / John Thaw; Fawlty Towers; London's Burning, Bergerac, and Enemy At The Door.

Greetings all,
My absolute favorite British TV programs are and have been
- Doc Martin
- PBS anything
- Agatha Christie's Miss Marple TV program reruns

I really have enjoyed the Agatha Christie;s Miss Marple shows for free on You Tube ! Also David Suchet as Hercule Poirot. There are so many episodes of HP that one could take acres of afternoon in conquering them.

But of course, all of these must be a given, and I am just now joining this forum. How I love British Telly !!

you wouldnt say that chris if you lived over here ---i think  it is really bad far too many repeats--example  RIO  BRAVO  is a very good film and believe it or not it is on at least 4 times per week.

Foyle's War is also on You Tube.  I happen to like repeats, on the whole, as i can study scenes again to capture nuances missed the first time (it only works will great scripts and acting)  An acquaintance here in Fla does not understand that I can see a film or TV program several times over and not be bored.  This person is a sports fan and insists that watching sports is the thing to do -  no repeats = it is always a new performance/game never before seen and never again reproduced in just the same way.

Midsomer Murders are a new interest, but I have to say that H. Poirot and Miss Marple are still my all time favorites. Helen Mirran as DCI Tennison is tops on my list too. Why is it that the Brits have so many detective/murder themes ? No complaints here, and I prefer them to our vapid 'reality shows' in the US anytime.
