I know, Krissy!  Can you believe it?  Thank goodness also for our PBS stations for showing these wonderful programs which we might not otherwise get to see.  Hmmmm...maybe it's time I made a donation.

Perhaps I was a little hasty to suggest the darkly ~ brooding Ciaran Hinds..( to replace John Nettles ) and I suggest, humbly, that Nathanial Parker also emanates a mysterious energy.... not as our sunny, sweet & husbandly 'Tom Barnaby' of Causton C.I.D. So its back to the drawing board.. .I had thought of Jeremy Irons..a little rumpled ( as if ) but he too has an edge.. though was brilliant as a Victorian 'gentleman archaeologist' in The French Lieutenant's Woman, from the novel by John Fowles. If you are curious about the early acting career of Ciaran Hinds... he figured in a small film ' December Bride' ~1990...memorable..

I agree with you about Jeremy, Jen. Maybe in his younger days, but the man isn't aging well.

Saying that, it's there personality that really counts, and if that comes through in the acting, then the looks don't always count.
