Dont forget Dunster in West Somerset. They have a famous Yarn Market, a picture of which is in my submitted photos. Dunster is a medieval market village.

Bridgwater has been a market town since the 1200s when King John granted a charter giving the right to hold a market.  It is also famous for the 1685 Monmouth Rebellion and the Battle of Sedgemoor in nearby Westonzoyland.

Oddly, I see there is no inclusion of Market Bosworth, Leicestershire, Market Deeping, Lincolnshire, Market Drayton, Shropshire, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, Market Lavington, Wiltshire, Market Overton, Rutland, Market Rasen, Lincolnshire, (the recent earthquake epicentre BTW), Market Stainton, Lincolnshire, Market Warsop, Nottinghamshire, Market Weighton, East Yorkshire or Market Weston, Suffolk. I can only assume they all inherited their names by being market towns, if I'm wrong, forgive me.

And also Needham Market, Suffolk, Newmarket, Suffolk and Stowmarket, Suffolk...surely they must be market towns too.

Thanks Gill, Jo, and Andy, all the places you have listed have now been categorized. Much appreciated. If you think of any more market towns please let us know.

There is also a section here for adding picturesque villages, if you know of any. Many thanks again.
