Thanks James.  Perhaps if we go over while it's still spring we could catch a gale somewhere.  Or would staying into autumn make catching a gale more likely or does it matter?

Getting steadily cooler now and expecting rain this coming Friday.

Light bulb went on over my head lol.  We should just go up to Shetland.

Thanks James.  Any particular season gales most likely?

I imagine a roaring, crackling log fire and a nice hot toddy go well with a gale.  Just a thought.

Perhaps just going up to Shetland we'd be assured of a gale.  Long way.

Days and especially nights getting steadily cooler; expecting rain this coming Friday.  That'll make a change.

Sue, glad you enjoyed San Francisco.  Did you happen to take in Golden Gate Park?.  Wonderful museum in that park.  Naturally it was closed last time I was in SF.lol

We're still enjoying gorgeous weather, sunny with overnight low's in the high 50s and daytime around 80.  Perfect!

That's all about to change though.  A storm is moving in off the Pacific and will hit here tomorrow around noon with 35 MPH wind and gusts to 50MPH.  Since it's been so long since we've had any rain, the expect a lot of blowing dust, maybe another haboob.  Then rain overnight and a chilly weekend, but sunny.

Got up bright and early to a good one inch of snow everywhere. I think the storm is blowing through and not hanging around, thankgoodness, as this is far to early for snow in my opinion.

The rain arrived on schedule.  It is still Friday here so hats off to the weatherman.  Raining in morning and still light rain at fiveish.  Prior to today the rainfall total was 00.  Possibly .50 by time the 11 o'clock news comes on.

Fellow POE member Brenda Harvey had snow last weekend.  She sent me comparison photos from 1 week before snow then 1 from a week later.  Fall colors in first one and her grandchildren out in a fairyland of white branches but just a low white carpet of snow on the ground.  That's fun snow.

Wherever you are Ruth you really get powerful windstorms.  Is a haboob the name of a wind?  Sounds Arabic.

It's 6:30 AM and 8 º F   cold.

A little on the cold side, right now.

If it brightens up a bit, I have to go out and rake leaves  fall.

Broken clouds right now at 2:30 PM and about 68°F.  It was BEAUTIFUL today, overcast and slightly drizzly off and on all day.  No wind, and a couple of sun showers.  Forecast for the rest of the week - sunny every day and temps in the low 70s F.  Perfect!!

Typically Autumnal weather here with grey skies, cool light wind and a dampness in the air which isn't quite rain.

The evening is fast approaching, thus it gets dark early.
