Description

Loch Duich and Eilean Donan Castle from the A87

Situated on a small island on Loch Duich, Eilean Donan is one of the most iconic of Scottish scenes. Inhabited since the 6th century, the first fortifications were built in 13th century but was destroyed in 1719 by the Royal Navy. The castle was restored in the early 20th century and is now one of Scotland's tourist hotspots.
