About Cley Hill

This is the site of an Iron-Age Hillfort which covers around 17 acres. It is just one of several such sites in Wiltshire, but differs somewhat in that it occupies an unusual location built upon a segment of chalk rising to around 775 feet above the landscape.

Apart from its interest as a pre-historic fortification, most latterly the site has become especially known for associations with sightings of Unidentified Flying Objects, and therefore attracts hundreds of visitors.

Cley Hill sits on the vast Salisbury Plain, a place of great natural beauty with an abundance of flora and fauna.
