Excellent capture Paul, I think the level flight makes this shot.
Good shot of a difficult subject, but it illustrates the difficulty of focussing on the bird in flight. Although the bird is well 'captured', unless I am mistaken, the actual focus point appears to be on the bird-feeder.
(1st May 2014)The shutter was pressed just as I saw him leave the feeder. A much longer focal length I've found easier to catch birds flying, say 300 to 400mm.
