University Church of St Mary the Virgin
This magnificent church was started in 1315 on the site of a previous St Mary's Church, incorporating its 13th century tower. This church was once the centre of university life, housing the treasury and university library and providing a setting for ceremonies and lectures. Visitors can climb the 127 steep steps to the roof line will witness some of the finest views in Oxford.
