About Whyteside House

This award-winning B&B is located in Berwick-upon-Tweed, an historic coastal town and the most northerly town in England. The old walls that surround the town are a 10-minute walk away, and the ruins of the castle are also nearby. For over 400 years, Berwick was a crucial area in the border wars between England and Scotland. It has numerous striking sights, including bridges across the River Tweed, and a number of pretty old buildings. Norham Castle, which has been besieged at least 13 times in its history, is a 15-minute drive from Cowrie Guest House. Rooms at Cowrie Guest House are elegant and traditionally furnished, and each has a flat-screen TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Every room also benefits from a modern private bathroom with free toiletries. A home-cooked, hearty breakfast is provided each morning. A wide range of restaurants, eateries and cafes can be reached within 15 minutes’ walk.
