Description

Skull and Crossbones, Warkworth, Northamptonshire

Surprisingly unworn 300 year old gravestone in the floor of the main aisle in the parish church at Warkworth, Northamptonshire. The church is very little-used. Luckily the cleaner turned up while I was there to let me in to the church, which is usually locked.

A fine piece of monumental masonry, well captured. Life expectancy was not good in those days, as the dates show.
